Face Authentication
- Simon is preparing to leave for work. He approaches the car from the driver side, and the car automatically unlocks for him. Once he is seated inside the vehicle, he has been confirmed as an authorised driver, so is able to operate the car as he requires.
- In other words:
- Whenever a person enters the car, the face authentication module (KL) automatically checks that the person is authorized to drive the vehicle. In case of non-authorized access (e.g. kids, thief, etc.) to the car, the authentication system detects the intrusion and, if the person is trying to use any car functionality, sends the picture of the unauthorized person to the owner’s smart phone/cloud (and eventually to the authorities). This information can then be used for police/insurance purposes.
- Additionally, if the system includes an outside facing sensor that is able to detect who is approaching the vehicle from the driver side, the face authentication module can unlock the door only for recognized/registered users of the vehicle.
